A senior thesis

Girl Watching was filmed over the course of three days in November of 2022. I completed it as part of my graduation requirements but I also adored the process and the people I was able to work on it with.

It deals with Laura Mulvey’s definition of the male gaze and the ever present dichotomy of the male artist and the female subject. It also deals with themes of true crime and the nature of violence and spectacle.

I love this film but it is quite strange and elicits questions from almost everyone who watches it. I am currently working on a written piece, a kind of sister-work, that will add some clarity but for now I will have to leave it’s meaning up to your imagination.
